Weekly wrap up #19 ;) april 30th - may 6th

Hello hello my lovely people... *sighs happily* it's been such a wonderful week... mainly because I had five days off... five days!!! :) to just chill and relax... yeah, I had some plans to maybe catch up on some blog work during that time but... well... it just didn't happen :) instead I read and relaxed and just generally charged my batteries, because the upcoming weeks will be tough... so as you will see below, I read quite a lot :) let's dive into the one book I finally finished, then I will talk about all the ones I read entirely, and I will finish by mentioning the ones I just started to read on sunday ;)

"The son of Neptune" by Rick Riordan
from page 163 to page 513; finished

So I finally finished the sequel in The heroes of Olympus series... I feel like it took me a while, but #1 it was about a bunch of new characters in a completely new place so it took me a hot minute to get into all that and #2 I sort of got distracted by other books I started and... well... here we are :) but since I got so many additional days off this week, I decided it's the best moment to actually finish the whole series :) worry not, I will have no spoilers for you here :) I really liked this book, and as usually, the more I got to know those new people, the more I liked them :) to be honest, the whole series is a bit of a blur at this point... ;)

"The mark of Athena" by Rick Riordan
from page 1 to page 574; finished

The third installment is the one I enjoyed maybe a little bit more than the others, mainly because the seven heroes from the prophecy is finally in one place going in one direction :) and I simply adore the group scenes... where different people interact with each other, building trust, friendships and everything else... obviously, because it's the third book in a series, I won't talk about any details but long story short, I loved it :)

"The house of Hades" by Rick Riordan
from page 1 to page 583; finished

This fourth installment in the series definitely kept me at the edge of my seat... especially after THAT cliffhanger in the previous story... yeah, not cool... ;) we see how our characters grow and change over time... how they influence each other... how they handle problems and help one another... *sighs happily* it was such a great novel...

"The blood of Olympus" by Rick Riordan
from page 1 to page 502; finished

This fifth and final installment was... not like I expected it to be, but it doesn't change the fact that I absolutely adored it :) the way the story went surprised me, but in a good way :) once again, we had character development, including my personal favourite of the series, Nico :) but he was just one part of many amazing ones... all heading into a great finale... honestly, this whole series seems like a blur... I read most of the books this week, and they are all connected in my head... writing reviews for each of them will be... something ;) but long story short, I highly recommend this whole series :)

"The hot one" by Lauren Blakely
from 1% to 100% -> 300 pages; finished

This was my audiobook of the week :) even though I'm usually not the biggest fan of second chance romances, with Lauren Blakely it worked :) I gave this story 4,5 stars because even with my personal preferences influencing me while listening to this novel, I couldn't help but fall in love with Lauren's writing style... I swear, this woman quickly becomes one of my all time favourite authors... so much so, that I am starting one of her other audiobooks next... more in the #WeeklyWrapUp next week ;)

"Speakeasy" by Sarina Bowen
from 1% to 6% -> 27 pages

I planned to start another ebook instead of this eARC, but when I unexpectedly got it sooner than I thought, I just had to start it... even a little bit :) ok, so I only read like the first chapter, but it was sooo good ;) this is book #5 in True north series, and I adore those books, so you can understand why the newest installment couldn't have waited any longer on my Kindle before I would give it a try ;)

"You are a badass" by Jen Sincero
from page 1 to page 18

After inhaling The heroes of Olympus series this past week... at least the majority of it, I needed a break... a break from fantasy / paranormal sort of stories... I will jump into contemporary genre for a while, so I will listen to audiobooks and read on my Kindle app, cause the majority of the books I own in this genre can be found in those two formats... now when it comes to paperbacks, I wanted to give one of my very few nonfiction books a go :) I've heard a lot of great things about this book, and I feel like this may be a really good moment to read it :) so far I read only the introduction, but I don't really want to rush it... plus, I started it about 10 PM on sunday sooo... ;)

Total page count of the week:

At the beginning of this past week, my plans were... a bit different... I thought that I would use those free days to maybe... I don't know... catch up on some stuff... do more productive things... yeah... ;) instead, I read... and read... and then read some more :) and basically do very little else... which is understandable when you look at the number of pages I inhaled... this is the most I've read in a week ever since I started doing this weekly wrap ups :) I checked ;) I am definitely not gonna be able to repeat this little reading extravaganza for a while... maybe next month when I'm on vacation... we shall see :) definitely don't expect this in the following weeks... I'm gonna be much more busy... :) but enough about me, how was your week? :)
