Random ramblings of a bookworm ;) #95

Goodreads challenge
Book haul
#BookMountain? Not anymore...

Hello my lovely people :) I have all sorts of book-ish things to share with you so instead of wasting words on the intro... and trust me, I'm gonna need all the words I have for later ;) let's just jump into those headlines... :) once again, in order ;)

At the beginning of the year I set myself a Goodreads reading challenge :) I decided on 52... you know, one book for each week of the year :) I knew I will read much more, but I didn't want the pressure of falling behind if I will be busy ;) I figured I would reach my goal sometimes in the second half of the year and just see how much more I will be able to read before the end of december... yeah... I reached my goal yesterday... so basically, it took me three months to read 52 books... don't ask me how, cause I'm not really sure how I was able to inhale so many novels... well, there are a few graphic novels and shorter novellas in there, but still :) so I changed it :) this time to 100 books... depending on when I will reach that one... because I'm sure it will be way before the end of the year, I might change it yet again in the future :)

I know that I usually leave the book haul part for the end of my posts, but today I have to do it in the middle... mostly because I have stuff to talk about that will work better after you will see all the books I got... yet again... I'm teling you, no ban works for me... I just keep buying more and more books :) but I will have to put a temporary stop to all of that, cause I sort of ran out of room to put all of them... yeah... so until I make some adjustments, this is the last haul you will see for the near future... unless the fact I can't buy more will motivate me to make those adjustments very soon... ;) ok, let's just jump into all the books I got... and a few graphic novels ;) and before you say anything... yes, I know that some series in the pics are out of order, don't worry, it's just temporary... I will read them in the right order ;) as always, I won't get into too many details about each book, because... well, we would be here all day :)

"A crown of wishes" by Roshani Chokshi is a companion novel in her The star-touched queen series :) we met the heroine of this story, Gauri, in the first novel and I have a feeling I might like her story more than the first :) especially since I am in love with the mesmerizing writing style of this author :)

"Archangel's viper" is the newest available installment in Guild hunter series by Nalini Singh, and I wasn't planning on getting it so soon... I read the eARC and it wasn't my favourite story in the series, but it was on such a huge sale... and since I knew I would get it eventually, I decided to take advantage of this opportunity :)

I've been seeing "Children of blood and bone" by Tomi Adeyemi everywhere lately... the beginning in Legacy of Orisha series is a fantasy story that I heard nothing but amazing opinions about... and from some very trusted sources... I can't wait to dive into it... :)

Some other books were on sale as well, so I got the remaining novels in Darkest London series by Kristen Callihan :) these paranormal / steampunk stories are absolutely phenomenal :) even though I still haven't read the final one :)

Daughter of smoke and bone trilogy by Laini Taylor has been on my radar for a long time... I read the first book years ago, in translation, and I remember I enjoyed it... I have a feeling I will absolutely love it in the original version, especially since I heard nothing but praises about the magical and whimsical writing style of this author :)

"Full metal alchemist vol. 1" by Hiromu Arakawa is the first installment in a comic book series with some steampunk-ish vibes... and some fantasy ones as well... I've heard nothing but amazing things about it, so naturally I had to get the first one to give it a try... expect similar thoughts about other graphic novels in this haul :)

"Hello stranger" by Lisa Kleypas is book #4 in her newest historical romance series, The Ravenels :) I've been waiting a year to get my hands on this newest installment, and I'm saving it for a special day... especially since it's gonna be another long wait for the next one as well... :)

"The hazel wood" by Melissa Albert is a paranormal-ish story that I know very little about... I heard good things from trusted sources and while I was shopping all my money away on BookDepository it was on sale, sooooo... ;)

"Ms Marvel vol. 1" by G. Willow Wilson is another beginning of a comic book series... I was in the mood to try out a few of them, I asked for recommendations from trusted sources and this was one of them :)

The nevernight chronicles by Jay Kristoff is a kick-ass fantasy series I heard nothing but praises about... I know very little about it besides the fact, that apparently the heroine is an absolutele bad-ass character :) I need nothing more... ;)

"Paper girls vol. 1" by Brian K. Vaughan is another comic book series I am giving a try :)

The winner's trilogy by Marie Rutkoski is yet another fantasy series I had my eye on for quite a while and I finaly decided to get it :) apparently it's full of intrigue, politics, great characters and amazing world building :) count me in... ;)

"Saga vol. 1" by Brian K. Vaughan is... yeah, you guessed it ;) another graphic novel I'm giving a try :) just as...

"Sex criminals vol. 1" by Matt Fraction :) don't judge by the title... I am trying not to ;)

"Scythe" by Neal Shusterman, book #1 in Arc of a scythe series :) it's this paranormal-ish sort of a story with dystopian vibes, and I decided to give it a try, when a lot of trusted sources read and loved it :)

I already read "Silver silence" by Nalini Singh, the beginning in her Psy-changeling trinity series, but it was an eARC and I needed my own physical copy :) especially since I loved this story very much :)

I was on the fence about The queen of the tearling trilogy by Erika Johansen for the longest time... I heard some very mixed opinions about it, but lately it's been on sale, and I decided to give it a try... especially since sometimes with those controversial stories, I am with the ones who end up liking them :)

"The belles" by Dhonielle Clayton is another new release that I've been seeing everywhere and heard nothing but praises about :) it's a fantasy-ish story, like the majority of my book haul... and basically every book haul, if we're being honest ;)

"To kill a kingdom" by Alexandra Christo is a fantasy story with a siren twist... this one was an impulse buy... as in I read a review of a totally unknown for me story from someone I trust and immediately bought this gem :)

Ok, I finally caved and got Throne of glass series by Sarah J. Maas :) the last installment in this hugely popular fantasy series goes live at the end of the year, so I figured out I can catch up on the rest of it before then ;)

The wrath and the dawn duology by Renee Ahdieh is a fantasy series and a retelling of A thousand and one nights story :) I got my eye on this one for a while and finally decided to just get it :)

I just had to get "Whichwood" by Tahereh Mafi, because she's just such an amazing author and I need all of her stories on my shelves...

And for the very end I left another graphic novel I am giving a try :) "The wicked + the divine vol. 1"

Last but not least... you know how most people have tbr piles? as in, all the to-be-read stories... :) yeah... that always felt.. inadequate in my case... so a while ago, I started calling my tbr... #BookMountian... cause let's be honest... you can't really call the amount of books in my case a *pile*... it's definitely a mountain ;) well, I am changing it yet again... cause while I was trying to find space for all of the books I got recently, I also spent part of my weekend on writing down in one place all of the ebooks I have... let's just say, it definitely opened up my eyes to all I have before me to read... and I am officially changing #BookMountain into #BookMountainRange... yep :) you don't believe me it's accurate? ok, let's talk some numbers :) I will start with 160+... cause that's the amount of actual paperbacks on my shelves I have to read... yep, those are not all the books on my shelves that I own... just the ones I have yet to read... *sighs dreamily* :) and that number will definitely go up, because I have a lot of first-book-in-a-series on my shelves... once I read the first and love it, I will get the other available installments... so yeah... I have that to look forward to ;) if that's not enough, let's get into ebooks :) 60+ is the amount of free stories I got from authors in exchange for my honest review... again, those are not all the books I ever got from them, just the ones I still have to read and review... and how about 100+? this is the amount of free ebooks I got from publishers through NetGalley... that I still have to review... :) still thinking it's not a lot? :) then let's add to that 300+ ebooks I got myself through Amazon :) yes, most of them were free at the time I was getting them, or on huge sales, but still... when you add all of that... yeah... it would take me a few years to get through all that I currently own... and that's only if I wouldn't get new ones... which, let's be honest, just not gonna happen :) I am determined though to get through all of the author / NetGalley ebooks as a priority... so I think that the majority of the ebooks I will read will be those ones... at least for the nearest future... :) oh, I didn't count audiobooks in my list, because I own just a few of them, since my love for them is fairly new :) but I do have an Audible subscription + Audible Romance Package that allows me to borrow audiobooks... so it's impossible for me to determine how many of them I will want to read :) a lot is probably the closest I can get :)

Ok, that is a wrap you guys :) I hope you enjoyed my newest #RandomRamblings post :) as always, the best way to connect with me is through my Facebook page or Goodreads account :) I hope you'll all have a wonderful week ahead of you and I will talk to you soon :)
