Weekly wrap up #7 ;) february 5th - february 11th

Hello hello my lovely people to the newest weekly wrap up post :) I have a ton of books to talk about this time... I know, what else is new? ;) but I'm thinking it's the last week when I read so much... more about it at the end of the post :) so let's jump straight into all the books ;) first, the ones I was in the middle of and managed to finish, then the ones I read entirely during last week, and then I'm gonna tell you all about the books I only started :)

"Love hacked" by Penny Reid
from 74% to 100% -> 85 pages; finished

Finally! :) I finally finished this audiobook :) don't get me wrong, it's one of my all time favourite stories, but it was a re-read, so it's not like I didn't know what's gonna happen ;) plus, I am listening to audiobooks mostly on my way to and from work, and since I stayed home last week... fighting a stupid cold, I had to push myself a bit to finally finish it :) already have my next audiobook ready, but more about that below :) in the meantime, if you want to know more about my thoughts and feelings, you can already read my full review here -> READ ME <- :)

"Brooklynaire" by Sarina Bowen
from 50% to 100% -> 173 pages; finished

This one took me a lot longer that I originally thought... and I'm not really sure why... ultimately I gave it 4 stars, but will have a full review posted later today, so you can check that one out if you're curious... :) hopefully I will be able to find more words to explain myself there ;)

"The battle of the labyrinth" by Rick Riordan
from page 122 to page 361; finished

I loved this book :) I generally had so much fun reading this whole series, that it's ridiculous ;) it's fast paced, full of humor and adventures and I flew through this installment, mainly cause I read the first three years ago and in translation, so even though I forgot many details, I remembered some... and this fourth book was the first one that was completely new to me :) and it was awesome ;)

"The edge of the abyss" by Emily Skrutskie
from page 83 to page 281; finished

I thought I would read the conclusion to this fantastic duology straight after finishing the first book, but I needed some time to gather my thoughts after that ending... but as you can see I waited just a couple of days ;) and this one was even more epic that the first... it was basically more... more everything :) I can't really tell you what it's about because that would spoil certain events of the first book, but I will tease you a bit... ;) giant sea monsters, pirates and girls falling for each other... ;) *mic drop* ;)

"The star-touched queen" by Roshani Chokshi
from page 1 to page 339; finished

I've heard a lot of opinions about this book... most of them really good so I decided to give it a try... and I have to say I expected a very different story... but what I got was actually better... much more complex and just... better ;) I gave this fantasy story 4,5 stars and for more of my thoughts about it you're just gonna have to wait for my full review... which is coming... soon-ish ;)

"The last olympian" by Rick Riordan
from page 1 to page 381; finished

I inhaled the last installment of this phenomenal series basically in one day... I laughed, I teared up, it was a fantastic conclusion to a great series :) full of humor, adventures and lots of surprises I still haven't fully recover after finishing it ;) that's why I started... but more about it below ;)

"Threat of Raine" by Heather Novak
from 1% to 100% -> 140 pages; finished

I inhaled this sequel in a paranormal series super fast, and not only because it wasn't very long :) I just adore Heather's writing style :) it was full of action, hilarious banter and soooo much more ;) will have a full review up tomorrow so be sure to come back and check it out for some more details :)

"Forget me not" by Brooke Blaine
from 1% to 100% -> 185 pages; finished

I inhaled this story very, very fast... yes, it wasn't as long to begin with, but the main reason why I read it so fast is the fantastic writing style of Brooke Blaine... I got my hands on eARC of this gem and as soon as the early reviews started to roll in, I knew there is a cliffhanger at the end of this first book in a duology... so I waited as long as I possibly could to read this first story in time to actually review it on the release day :) and that ending still hit me in all the feels... GAH!! I need the conclusion ASAP :) fortunately, since I'm on Brooke's review team, I will be able to get my hands on it sooner than later ;)

"Bogowie muszą być szaleni" by Aneta Jadowska
from page 61 to page 86

This is the second installment in polish urban fantasy series about a witch detective, which is a very simple explanation to a much more complex story, but since it's not available in translation that means that majority of you will not be able to read it so I don't want to say too much and tease you ;) I am enjoying this sequel, and I'm very curious to see what's gonna happen next :)

"Grave mercy" by Robin LaFevers
from page 105 to page 189

This fantasy story about a girl who was trained to be a Handmaiden of Death, which is basically this very dangerous assassin is... well, different than I expected... it's much more slow-paced than I thought, and full of politics and intrigues, so it takes me longer to read, but I am definitely loving it :) I'm already curious about the next two installments, especially since I already met the heroines of them both :)

"The gentleman's guide to vice and virtue" by Mackenzi Lee
from page 1 to page 60

This is the book I saw everywhere over the last six months or so :) and everyone was in love with it... the humor, the characters, the writing style... I've heard nothing but praises... so with all that hype I wasn't sure if it will be really this good... I'm more than happy to say that it's even better ;) so far all the hype is worth it, and I'm very curious to see where the story will go next :)

"The lost hero" by Rick Riordan
from page 1 to page 51

After finishing Percy Jackson and the olympians series I just couldn't leave Rick Riordan and his writing style... ;) and although my original plan was to go back to re-reading Harry Potter at this point, I decided to go with my mood and to start The heroes of Olympus series instead :) just a few chapters this last week... but I'm super excited to see what's gonna happen next :)

"Wanderlust" by Lauren Blakely
from 1% to 11% -> 25 pages

Let me tell you all about my second audiobook of this year ;) originally I planned to listen to 'Trust" by Ella Frank, but I started it and the narrator just kept annoying me... so I hat to ditch that idea... oh well, I will just have to read the paperback I already have on my shelf ;) so instead I decided to give this little gem a try :) it's an Audible original and it's actually for the first few weeks available only as an audiobook before being published as e-book and paperback... and what a great idea that was :) I immediately fell in love with the... I want to say the story but if we're being totally honest... the voice of the male narrator... Richard Armitage... yep... I'm a goner... :) I have a feeling it's gonna be a fast read ;)

Total page count of the week:
1985

It's the third week in a row where I read a lot... like, really a lot of pages... but I'm thinking it's the last one like that for a while... mainly because the last few weeks I was... well... basically all I did was read :) and that situation have two major consequences: #1 I now have a whole lot of reviews to write... and I finally have to sit down to do them before I forget all the details :) and #2 I think with all that reading I may overdid it a little bit... I'm not really in a reading slump, because I am very excited to read the books I'm currently reading, but I definitely want to slow down my speed :) I have so many other things that I actually have to start doing, that I'm predicting my reading will reflect that :) but that's ok :) and how was your reading week? :)

XOXO

A
