Review: "Temporary" by Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry

Title: "Temporary"
Standalone, but... ;)
Main characters: Callan Walker and Grace Kerrington

I got an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review :) I have to say that I absolutely adored this lovely story :) I mean... I knew it can't be bad... after all I was a huge fan of Sarina Bowen before... but Sarah Mayberry was a completely new to me author, so I was curious to see what this duo will have for us... and after finishing this book? I will definitely check Sarah's individual work :) it's a standalone... for now :) as in there is no official title of the series yet, but come on... after that ending I'm sure there is already another book in the works ;) but don't worry, there is no cliffhanger or anything, the whole situation with our main couple is resolved... that very tantalizing glimpse in the epilogue is about another character from the story ;) but for now let us concentrate on the topic of this review :)

Let me tell you more about our main couple... oh, how I loved them both... :) Callan may seem like just a rich boy, but definitely don't be fooled by his playboy facade... there is much more to him that we think at the beginning... but I have to admit... I was charmed from the start... *sighs dreamily* that australian accent of his... oh, I am a sucker for those accents... and although irish is sitll my favourite, this one was very close ;) so at first Callan seems like this easy-going, charming guy... and that's true, he is like that... but I adored him more toward a bit further in the book, once we got to see his more vulnerable side... and Grace... oh, the strong and resilient Grace... life wasn't the easiest for her... now she's getting every temp job she can get to support herself and her younger sister, hoping one of them become permanent... and the next opportunity is the one in Walker Holdings... at least I hope I'm remembering the name correctly... ;) if not, it's the company that belongs to Callan's mother... but he is estranged from his family... I don't want to get into too many details, so as not to spoil you anything, but at some point things get complicated... so what can I say to you about their relationship...? if you can even really call it like that... ;) it's... well... hhhmmmm... ;) so when they meet, she is definitely not charmed off her feet like women usually react to him ;) don't get me wrong, he makes an impression on her, but she has more important stuff on her mind :) I mean... I would cave sooo much faster... ;) I adored their interactions... I don't really want to tell you too much how it all goes down, mainly cause the whole situation is connected to an event that is not really mentioned in the synopsis... we get to know about it very early on, but still... I don't want to spoil you :) all you need to know is that I loved everything between them :) yes, they made mistakes... mostly Callan, but still ;) Grace had her issues as well :) but those, let's call them *flaws* for the lack of a better word to describe a much more complex issues... they only made them more human in my eyes... especially since certain conflicts and miscommunications weren't dragged out in time... I hate that in books... I mean, things would work out so much better if people just talk with each other... ;)

All in all I gave this wonderful story 5 stars... :) I flew through it and just adored it ;) it's written in 2 POVs, which means we get chapters from Callan's perspective as well as Grace's point of view, and that is my favourite way :) the writing style in general was very entertaining, and the greatest compliment I can give this duo of authors, is that you can't say who wrote which part... their styles merged very well together and I am really hoping this is a start of a beautiful and looooong cooperation :) because like I mentioned before in my review... I see a lot of potential for future stories... not only with *that* person from the ending but a few more as well.. only time will tell if I'm right... fingers crossed ;) if you are looking for a fun read, with panty-melting hero and strong heroine... for a story that made me tear up in public places more than once... oh, those emotional scenes really hit me... for a novel with a beautiful ending, then definitely give this gem a try :) I highly recommend it :)

XOXO
