Review tour + Giveaway: "Hustler" by Meghan Quinn and Jessica Prince

Title: "Hustler"
Standalone, but... ;)
Main characters: Gavin Saint and Penelope "Nell" Prescott

Synopsis

I make my living as a hustler, and I’m great at it.
I don’t have a single tell and use that to my advantage to manipulate any situation.
I’ve always known what a person is about to do before they’ve even decided.
That is, until I met Nell.
I can’t get a read on her, and what’s worse, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.
Which only makes me want her more.
Now I’m in for the hardest hustle of my life.
Somehow I have to convince Nell that she belongs with me.
Good thing I’m always up for a challenge.

I received the ARC of this amazing book in exchange for an honest opinion and I loved it :) both of these lovely authors are new to me, but I will be definitely going back for more... :) not only more of the individual work from both of them but also... :) there are a few less than subtle nods in the book about a potential stories between certain characters, so I am totally waiting for the official announcement... cause I would sooo read those books... ;) you read that right... "books" :) as in plural and everything ;) so fingers crossed :) but before we all get excited about that, let's go back to fangirling over this little gem :)

So about our main couple... ;) first of all, naming the hero who is a walking and talking sin Gavin Saint either gonna make you roll your eyes or laugh out loud ;) I laughed and fell in love with this book even more ;) Gavin is one of the best poker players in the world... :) he's very smart, observant, handsome, always impeccably dressed... everything is about appearance ;) he's also extremely good at reading others and predicting what they will do... that is until he meets Nell ;) don't get me wrong, he's still good at reading her, it's just that she's much more unpredictable that he could have guessed :) and about Nell... lately I have been on a roll with some really good heroines :) don't get me wrong, I still adored Gavin, and all other heroes in different books, but it's the women who have my attention ;) Nell is a cocktail waitress aspiring to get a job in this Cirque du Soleil-ish type of a show... :) she's resilient, determined and sassy :) and you know how I love me some smart and sassy women ;)

She catches his eye in the casino where she works and he... lives and sort of works ;) it's a complicated situation and the details are not important right now ;) so when he sets his eyes on her, the assumption is, that it's gonna go as easy as always with him and the ladies... ;) but oh no it is not ;) the chemistry is there, but she doesn't really like him and doesn't want to have anything to do with him... ;) so he has to adjust his methods and the overall plan... ;) I'm not gonna say anything more about the details or anything, but their interactions are either hilarious or sexy as hell... or both at the same time :) and since both of them have some trust issues it's really rewarding to see them slowly change with time... and how they influence each other, whether they realize it or not :)

Besides our main couple we have a few secondary characters that definitely got my attention :) so there's Graham and Scott, Gavin's two friends :) Graham is the owner of the casino where Gavin lives but it's Scott who stole my heart :) he's this huge guy... and I do mean giant ;) with a surprisingly vulnerable and sweet insides :) I absolutely loved every scene he was in and I hope he'll get his own book ;) and then we have Grace-but-everyone-calls-me-Davies and Page, Nell's friends :) Davies is a dealer in the same casino and Page is a private chef :) and from the two of them, don't get me wrong, both are very interesting, but it's Page who is my favourite :) she's Nell's roommate and she's simply hilarious... I swear, the banter between her and Nell is one of the highlights of this book :) but all of them are a very entertaining additions to this story and I need more ;)

I absolutely loved this book :) it was hilarious and very sexy... and I mean like toe-curling-blushing-do-NOT-read-in-public sexy ;) we have two perspectives in it, so we are able to get inside the heads of both Nell and Gavin :) and it was done really well here :) and by that, I mean that there really is a difference when you read those chapters :) and if you are worried that because two authors wrote this book that it feels weird or you can tell who wrote which part... fear not :) the story is fantastic and flows in a way that will make you glued to the pages... if I wouldn't know about it, I would never guessed that two different people created it :) I have to say that this book took me by surprise :) don't get me wrong, I expected the humor and all the naughty parts... let me just say that the cover... oh, that cover... ;) perfectly gives you the vibe and tone of the book... :) but it also had its own emotional and vulnerable moments... :) it was a fantastic read and I really encourage you to give it a try :)

I have a few quotes for you to show you a little glimpse into all the awesomeness that awaits you in the book :) but since they are from the ARC version, they might be slight differences in the finished one :) and you might be wondering why there's no actual interactions between Gavin and Nell here... yeah, that's because most of those scenes are either way too hot to quote in public places or too spoilerific ;) but believe me... it's there in the book and it is amazing ;) happy reading :)

The very first few sentences in the book, from Gavin POV :) and I knew I was there for a ride ;)
"'Pinch my nipple, again.'
Seriously, if I squeeze this chick's nipple one more time, I'm afraid it will pop off the fake titty it's attached to. I've spent the last five minutes up in Areola City, playing with her unappealing, and rather rubbery tits. I'm about two more tweaks away from being bored."

Part of a scene where Nell talks to herself after a... situation with one of the customers ;)
"I bring one of the earphones up to my ear and listen to her talk to herself.
'You couldn't just let him slap you in the ass, could you? No, Nell, you have to go and be all high and mighty, I am woman, hear me roar, and knee fuck his junk.'
I chuckle, loving the way she berates herself in a no holds barred kind of a way. She's looking at the broken heel in her hand as she sits patiently in the metal chair provided for her.
'Then you have to go and snap off in front of Mr. Sexy Eyes, sending me flying into his arms. I nearly broke a tooth on his bicep."

Part of a conversation between Nell and Page ;)
"'Things with Gavin got a little... out of hand,' I admit weakly.
'Out of hand, how?' she asks with a narrow-eyed gaze.
'He kind of... uh... fingered me in a storage closet.'
'What?' she shouts so loud I'm pretty sure the stray dogs living in the alley three blocks over were able to hear her.
'It was an accident!'
'How? How could something like that ever be an accident? Did you accidentally trip, and catch your vagina on his finger?'"

And one more why I love Page ;)
"'Nell!' Page shouts as she bursts into my bedroom like a bat out of hell.
'Um, right here, psycho,' I tell her from my place on the bed. 'No need to yell the house down.'
'I need your help. And you aren't going to like it, but I'm desperate and if you don't help me the world will end. California will fall into the ocean - not that it'll really be that much of a loss - volcanoes will erupt all over Earth, and nuclear missiles will explode in their silos.'"

And last one between Gavin and Scott :) Scott first ;)
"'There's twenty dollars in it for you...'
I grip my forehead, massaging it slowly. 'Is your love life really that pathetic that you're willing to pay twenty bucks to hear about what happened last night?'
'The romantic comedies I've been watching just aren't doing it for me anymore,' he jokes. 'Come on man, just tell me what happened with Penelope. Is she okay at least?'
'Wouldn't know,' I answer honestly. 'She snuck out this morning before I could check.'
'Nooo.' If the man wasn't two more bicep curls away from impersonating The Rock, I would think that he was a woman.'"
